That sort of behaviour should have vanished with the advent of Windows Vista! it suggests the developer has placed files and settings that need to be writable into protected locations rather than limited user writable locations. It's incorrect programming practice to create a file converter tool that requires the end user to have administrator priviliges just to run the program. It is available in a portable archive onthe same page. I might add that in the last few versions of Quicken, the automatic download process has been very problematic, only working about 50% of the time without some kind of glitch. Open files in XLS and XLSX or CSV formats. Convert CSV to CSV Mint/QB Online/Xero and import into Quicken Mac, QB Online, Xero, YNAB. Since Quicken has gotten very buggy in recent versions, and a 2 year subscription may not be your cup of tea, nor do you want your data on the cloud (some other computer some where you cannot ensure its security or control access to it), your only option is a program like this or manual entry. Finally the solution to convert your CSV or Excel transaction files into a easy to use CSV format ready to import. Kalmly, If you use a version of Quicken 2016 or earlier, you can no longer download directly into Quicken without a new subscription to Quicken, and you can't even download a QIF file and then open it it with an older version of Quicken, the process causes the program to call home on the Internet during the process and if your subscription is not renewed, no go.
